Sundays are for...

We spent much of today just lollying about, at the park and the mall and the plaza. Then we both settled in for a springtime nap. It's nearly dinnertime and we are going to the Potato House, where Tara is keen on the mozzarella and butter baked potato. They tell me orphans will eat any and everything, but she does not like McDonald's chicken nuggets or pizza at the mall. Maybe I will have to learn how to make borsht? (a little help, Mom?)

The circus last night was a lot of old-fashioned fun, from ice cream cones to scary clowns. Tara sat on my lap the whole time, she didn't seem scared. The venue was small and we were in the 4th row, so the performers were practically over our heads for the high-ropes and swings.

The embassy appointment is at 9 am Monday, so it's early to bed tonight. We are used to sleeping in.

How's this for a soft entry? Isn't that what Sundays are supposed to be about?

I love the rhythym you two are developing. Sounds so copecetic (?) as we used to say. (Don't know if that's a real word or not).
Bonding, if I ever saw it!

Glad you guys had fun at the colorful circus. Hope you're sleeping well & that the embassy cooperates. Even with Karen's arm-twisting it still took a week--remember last Monday they said a week to 2 weeks? Anyway, again, good luck with that.
Miss you & Tara, she's so much fun to watch as she experiences every new thing--her little face lighting up and that little Russian "oh!" sound she makes, her little lips pursing into a circle.
Well, we signed up for Marika's driver's test today online, and I decided to get her a car...she needs it for driving herself to ballet & driving between the 2 houses. No teenager I know deserves a car more than she does. She put in her 50 hours practice and is just about ready, I think. Spending time with Tara reminded me how thrilled & lucky I am to have Marika, and all the good times we've had as she's grown up...you've got it all still ahead. Of course, when Johnnie adopts me, he & Anne will have it all ahead as well... (bifocals, periodontists, Senior Discounts, Alzheimer's, Depends...a panoramic vista of delight!)sal

GREAT DATE! Lazy fun kid days are the best. Adults need them even more than the kids! Yes, if you're going to a Circus or something of its ilk, being up-close rocks! Excellent! I saw Tara's potato mashed all around her plate in that one picture. LOL! Woo hoo good times!
