A sick day

Tara stayed home from pre-school yesterday with a cough and stuffy nose, though no fever. Today, she looked and sounded much better and wanted to return to school.

And now I am home sick today. I have realized that this is the first sick day I have been home without kids in 2 years and 7 months. This is because Tara's pre-school was near my work, which is far from home. So when I stayed home, so did she.

Now, I can drop her off at classtime and crawl back into bed. The house is quiet. Should I feel guilty for feeling like this is a luxury?

Oh no, no, no... do not feel guilty. Feel the thrill of those precious hours of alone time (even if you had to get stuffed up to get it!). It's a great excuse to nurture yourself. Hope you are feeling better soon!

No! You deserve it!!! You should get sick more often! Like, once a month, at least!! ;-)

No, no, no -- enjoy! (well, as much as you can, anyway).

I was sick one day but hauled my rear out of bed to take Rachel to day care, and I was so glad I did. I took cold medicine and slept and felt so much better at the end of the day. I figure I'm paying for day care, so I'm going to use it!

don't feel guilty!!! Having a real sick day -- a day when you can actually stay home and rest -- is soooo important! I was just talking to a girlfriend about how i miss sick days (i'm sick now, too!) -- Enjoy it and get better!!
