Tara-isms Part VIII
So I'm on the computer upstairs and I hear a shrriiiiieeek from the family room below. "Mommmmyyyyyy!!"
I run downstairs, there's Tara spinning around, looking frantically on the floor, the couch. What's wrong?? I say.
"I can't find the 'pillar!!" This is the caterpillar she has been keeping in a jar. We were suprised to find it outside in the cold. "I can't fiiiiiinnnnnd her!!!"
I join the desperate search, then I stop, and try not to laugh. My sweet little girl is spinning around with a fuzzy brown caterpillar clinging for life on her back.
So I come up and tell John the funny story, in hush-hush tones or Tara will think we're laughing AT her. "Ah, that explains it," John says. "She kept telling me she was looking for the 'pillar,' I kept pointing to the 'pillow' on the couch, and she was getting really mad at me." Ah, another crazy episode in our daily lives.

Hi laura!
just checking in your blog and i can't believe how big Tara is getting! Also got to chime in on the previous post about the person commenting on how Tara looks like you ... we (naturally) never get that one! But so often i am amazed at the incredibly personal and insensitive things strangers will blurt out in front of my girls when whe're out somewhere. I am usually so stunned at the stupid things that people say, it takes me a few seconds to recover. And then you have to watch what you say because little ears are listening...
i guess adoption is one of those things that fascinates people, and then they feel at liberty to ask you anything and everything that comes to mind -- personal stuff they would normally not ask a close friend, much less a complete stranger.
i think the comments response is something we'll get better at with experience!
That's cute about her "pillar". Glad he's in a warm, dry place!
