Say what?

Tara is picking up English words fairly well, just seven weeks out of Ukraine. She knows how to tell her friends to "stop!" She also says, "No, I don't want." Her previous nyet has turned into no. But she still prefers to say dah instead of yes, though it is often followed by a soft "yeth." She understands almost everything, though still resorts to whining when we don't understand her. Sometimes we hear ourselves in our children's words. She says to me: "OK, come on!"

C'mon, what are you waiting for? Mom, we don't have time for you to lie there on the floor kicking and screaming. We've got places to do and people to be!!!

So Tara has learned the basics: Yes, No, Don't Bug Me...all the stuff she needs for living in the U.S. Has she learned "Mama buy dis for me. How much dollars, Mama?" Those were Caroline's first words, and she has practiced it to perfection ever since. How is Austin doing with his new little sister? Ask him for me, if he is shouting it from THE ROOFTOP OPTICAL. He will know the rest.

Hello. We just loved reading your adoption story. We are also adopting from Ukraine. I would love to talk with you. We have also adopted from Russia 3 years ago. Our boys were speaking totally English after 5 months home! Kids are amazing!

I am very interested in your orphanage. I have heard about this orphanage before. Please e mail me and lets share stories. stolz@ellijay.com

God Bless
Angie
