Toddlerville

I am living in Toddlerville. We have little areas of play set up throughout the apartment. Here by the door is where we look at books. Over here, we sit on the floor and go through my cosmetic bag, one item at a time. In the corner by the bed is a stack of photos that are bent and folded as though they've been slept upon (they have). The damp shirts drying on the clothes rack serve as a great tent. The coffee table in front of the couch holds the laptop, this is Mama's Area, a NO TOUCH zone. NYET. NO. TARA!

This little girl is a sweet kid, amusing herself much of the time while humming and squealing with glee. She sleeps 10-11 hours a night, takes 2 hour naps, and eats fairly well. We had a toddler melt down today outside when she swung her bag of cookies (Tara, be careful!) and they all fell on the ground. The birds swarmed. She screamed. It looked like I was kidnapping her when I hauled her away.

I had to wake her from her nap early today to rush to the airline office and change our Sunday tickets to Tuesday morning. The fingerprints should be cleared (fingers crossed) today but the time difference was just too much.(Thanks for all of your help sister Karen! The embassy must think I'm important or something, with the FBI telling them they are rushing these) So now our appointment at the embassy is at 9 am Monday. We will do some touristy things Saturday and Sunday, with the help of Natasha, and then the appointment, pack, and hopefully have our behinds on the plane home Tuesday. I will take the stoller to the plane for easier travel. I think they'll check it at the door.

Sounds like you are in control of the stroller conundrum which blew my sleep-deprived mind yesterday. Tara's making the most of all the one-on-one time with Mom. Good for her! Hang in there Laur. Miss you guys! I would love to play with her in all her little zones. (For a short period of time, of course. Must get my 4 hour nap at some point.) Sorry about the Tuesday switch. I had a feeling...call me PSYCHIC!!!Ooooweeeeeoooooo!(-;
Very glad her Dr. appt. went so well. Also, I have a few loads of laundry she can fold when you guys get back here...just bring her over when it's convenient.
Hey, it ain't over til it's all over the Fat Lady...or somethin'. I feel your pain, girl. loveya both, sal

Laura-
Glad to hear about the fingerprint update. My hat is off (if I wore a hat) to Karen-having the FBI connection for speedier results!
Very clever having the toddler zones, the cosmetic bag area must be the one she plays in that really tuckers her out-it's a wonder the naps are not longer!!
Tuesday sounds like a grand day to fly. The weekend is going to fly by for the two of you.
Enjoy.

So Tara likes to sleep 11 hours a night and take naps? We are going to get along just fi-i-i-ine. Now if we could stop Austin from waking up at the crack o'dawn. Hey Aim, I'm going to see Elvis Costello Tuesday night. Hope that is not the night Laura gets in, I don't want to have to choose. Sorry Laur. Yeah my hook-up at the FBI is the nicest person you ever could ask a favor for. We had a lot of laughs at your expense, Laur, cooped up with a two year old...yikes. Soon. I told you I got the picture done for Tara's room. It isn't artsy fartsy or anything. I hope you like it. SOON SOON SOON!

Wow...alot has been happening!
Laura, you ARE able to check your stroller at the door, ask the agent for a DOOR CHECK TAG for the stroller when you get to the gate. They will bring it right up the jet way when you land, and it will be there within minutes at the door of the aircraft.
Natasha is very handy to have around... I would like to adopt her. Please let me know when I should pick her up at the airport. Maybe I can give you guys a ride home while I am there?
Also, let me know your Flight info when you get it...
