Little girl

We sat in a small office as the orphanage doctor and Natasha spoke quickly in Russian. It was our third stop of the morning on Monday. Natasha paused to translate to us. "They are getting the girl," she said. We waited on a small sofa. We could hear children bustling in the hall on their way to lunch. Finally, in what seemed like hours but was probably only minutes, the door opened slowly and a hesitant little girl with big blue eyes and light brown hair walked in. She just stared. She was shy. She didn't know what to make of us. She is only 2 years old and she might have a new home.

Wow! That's sooooo COOL!! We are viewing this at Tue. A.m.'s staff meeting and everyone remarked "Aaaawwww' upon seeing you and the little cutie with the bear. We're all very excited for you and can't wait to meet the special girl. There are a few tears going around today on Paczki day !! Happy Mardi Gras...too. (BTW, LOVE the hats, can you bring Lenny one?)

Dear Laura and John,

Laura:
That picture and the look on your face says it all. Explains everything.. Pictures truly are worth a thousand words...More in this case...
Mr. Bates proclaimed me the ``designated Polack'' in your place so I trucked in 23 Paczki, three kinds. Heading off on vacation tomorrow...
Can see from that photo that it's suddenly become very warm on your trip.. That's wonderful. See you soon..

Laura,
I've got tears in my eyes and haven't even seen the photo! Speaking of photos, can someone tell me
where this photo is??!! I have scanned the photo gallery and have seen John in a variety of hats, Laura in boots that look like they would fit me! (size 11) And what looks to be an interagation room with a stray light bulb hanging from the ceiling. Along with the assorted engaging tourtist sites.
Laura & John,
I checked on Bowie , Monday, and he is doing fine, sleeps most of the day, is eating well and plays during personal play time. (hey, would you consider sending me there if you go away again?)

What a beautiful picture to see. The little girl seems to be staring at you as if she knows you. I made a copy of it, it makes me so emotional looking at her and you. Bless all of you---- Love Mom

Hey Laura and John,
What's with all the suspense? Looks like the long journey and patience may have just paid off. Congratulations. Hope everything works out well. (P.S. Tell John that with a little girl in the house, he won't be able to work on his computer in his underwear anymore! It'll be different...)

Laura and John,

Super moment. Super photo!
She must feel like Dorothy, red shoes, toys and all.
We pray for a smooth homecoming.

Laura, you are suited to be a suspense novel writer! I waited up half the night on Monday and rushed home this afternoon to see a photo of you?!? You're killing us all-please hurry with another picture and the details. Do I need to start saving Anna's clothes for you?

What an amazing odyssey Laura... all the hope, wonder, questions and more hope. Thank you for sharing -- like everyone else, I keep refreshing to find out what's happening with you guys and I got nervous at the silence yesterday, and choked up at the photo today. A fraction of what I'm sure you are experiencing. So much possibilitiy! I want to add something light-hearted but this just feels so huge! Keeping you in my thoughts...

Laura and John,
I can barely see what I'm typing through tears of joy for you. Going to work is a real problem these days...all I want to do is check on your progress. What a beautiful story! Feel like we have a bestseller in the making. Your picture is awesome-the kids think she even looks like Austin (must be the hair!). All our best!

ooops, I must have hit the post button twice on my last message. Amy - I didn't know you had such large feet :) Sorry - I should not be taking space to talk to other nice people posting notes. Hi Sharon and Tom. We have lots to celebrate!
