A giggly girl
She giggles. It's a sweet, soft sound, almost like a tee-hee. We visited Tara today and she was in a splendid mood for us. She really showed her mischevious side, too, running back and forth and stomping her feet. She can give John a great, playful evil eye, just like I do. Hah. Quite entertaining.
She is too little to understand the difference between Ukraine and America, but she seems to realize that we are part of her life somehow.
We were told today that we will get the letter from the adoption center on Monday. Then court maybe the following day? We are pushing this along as fast as we can.
If you have a fast Internet connection you might be able to view this short
video of Laura playing with Tara.

HOW PRECIOUS! (all moms can use caps!)
The words and picture gave me a thrill from top to bottom. How much love you 3 are blogging around the world!!!
From Humble Great-Aunt-To-Be
Super pictures! She looks ready to come home.
Posted by: Dave at February 17, 2005 12:37 PMShe is such a cutie! She's getting used to you guys, you can see she's happy to see you. (-:
Posted by: Sally at February 17, 2005 01:49 PMCan't believe looking at Tara how far away you are. She seems almost touchable to me. I can't wait to hold her and hear her giggle for myself. You guys got any audio equipment with you?... you could put her on the blog so we can HEAR her, too!
She must be getting a feeling of belonging, children are so sensitive to that. I remember when Mom and Dad went to Siberia to adopt you, Laura, you took to everyone right away. Hyuk Hyuk.
those are great pictures of tara vika. maybe it is a good thing the process takes so long because tara is getting used to seeing you every day. when you all leave, i guess someone will explain to her in russian what is happening. two year olds can certainly understand everything they are told, even if they can't say everything. make sure she gets to say goodbye to people and things! (of course, you know all this because you are already parents, but maybe you forgot.)
then, when she is three, she will have no real memories of this part of her life, other than what you show her in pictures.
it sounds like the waiting is inching towards a close.
:) :)

You have hilarious relatives. I think little Tara will be yukking it up over here in no time. Loved the video.(Special thanks to Tony Ridder for that high-speed connection.)
On these drab, wet, nasty winter days here, I have been amusing myself by reading your wonderful, warm, lovely story.
Best to you. Hope all goes well with the "authorities." Hope they've forgotten about that nasty Cold War business. (You can remind them that we won.)

Hope everything goes well on Monday. I'm sure ya'll are eager to have Tara Vika home.
Oh my gosh!! She is such a doll! My mom keeps going on and on about how cute and precious she is!! When we showed Austin the audio, he was sitting there with a huge smile on his face and laughing at how me and my mom were jumping up and down, so excited to finally meet her. She is the cutest thing. Me and Austin are watching Napoleon Dynamite..he is laughing at that.
Keep us updated!!

We're in love!! Get home this instant. We can't wait another second to meet our beautiful little neighbor. Feel like we know her already...what a beauty! She'll be in two-year-old girl heaven on our block, won't she? The kids race down every morning to be the first to discover any new pics, then we all gather 'round and gasp (and wipe away another tear if you're me!).
